A man gets release from Prison after serving 15 years. He discovers the woman whom he had two kids by , has moved on with her life, got married to a good working man that bought her house.
Things were going great for her and the kids 16-17 both in hight school, last year for the oldest daughter who's about to graduate. The only man the girls knew was the stepdad who treated the girls like his own kids since they were 2-3 years old, he spoiled them rotten.
The biological dad contacted the mother, he wanted to see his daughters, which the stepdad had no problem with it, he insist; and truly believed that every man should know their children, no matter how long they've been apart, he should make some kind of connection.
The girls out of curiosity wanted to meet their real father although they have seen pictures of him, when he would take pictures on the yard or in his jail cell, then send the pictures to the mother of his kids moms house, the only contacted he had was through his kids grandmother.
They met up at the Mall, Jeffery (his name) Sat down with both of his girls, they ate lunch. The girls kind of starred with questions on their minds which was only obvious. The oldest girl 17 Tamia (her name) she builds up enough courage and pops the million dollar question:
Tamia says, 'Jeffery, that is your name correct?' Jeffery gives Tamia a surprising look he replies, Yes sweetie, thats my name but I prefer you girls to call me Daddy' (he smiles)
Tamia, replies, 'No disrespect... JEFFERY! But you haven't earned the title to be called a DADDY! by any of us' (she points at herself and his sister) Tamia continued...
Other than a sperm donor, you've been a complete stranger in our lives since Lakia and I were little girls. I'm sorry, we don't know you, we've seen your pictures our mom showed us of you, but pictures can't take care of people, people take care of people...
Lamar, OUR STEPDAD yeah HE STEPPED UP, to the plate; Been there with mom, raised us girls, treated us like we were his own kids. I love my stepdad he's a great Father. Both girls then raised their hands given each other a high five as they both agreed.
Jeffery interrupts as he chuckles... 'Are you guys finish beating me up Tamia? Okay I deserve that and Im happy you got that off your chest, now let me tell you guys something, I am still your dad no matter how you feel...
Just then before Jeffery can finish what he had to say, Tamia and Lakia gets up, excuses themselves from the table, Lakia says with a smile, 'nice knowing you stranger'. They both walk away. Tamia gets on her phone she calls Lamar, "Hello Daddy! yeah were done, you can come get us now.
Tamia turns around looks at Jeffery she shakes her head... 'what a pathetic loser'.
Question. As a mother, would you've told your daughters to at least give their dad a chance to speak his peace rather they ever seen him again or not. Your Thoughts?
